The time has come (unbeknownst to me, maybe it has passed) to wrap up this series of three Posts about our visit to The Edgewater Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, from our checkin on November 30th to our checkout on December 10th.
Below is a daytime view of the hotel.
Now we will look at it during the night.
In the foreground of the next two photos, taken from our room, you can see some buildings directly down and in front of the hotel.
In the distance, on the right, you can see, what is obviously, a parking garage.
Now notice the white, 'almost tent like building'.
Below we are 'looking back' at The Edgewater. You can clearly see the Parking Garage in the foreground and The Edgewater in the background.
You can also see that not each, and not every single day, here in the Desert is Sunshine and Blue Skies!
Now we are going to 'zero in' on the white, tent like, 'building'.
The West end is to the left in the below photo.
The 'building' is used for various special events. You can see (above) that it is air conditioned.
Finally, parking is quite a challenge. Oh Yes! There IS a lot of parking available, both out side and in the large Parking Garage.
BUT to get to these parking areas involves a fair amount of walking.
We have some good news, there are 12 handicapped parking stalls immediately outside of the hotel entrance and a short walk.
The bad news, to get one of these 12 handicapped parking stalls, you almost have to inherit one from your family. Guests get one and don't move for days.
Not to mention, no matter where you park, you still have to get into the hotel, and walk a fair distance to the elevators up to your room.
This is our third visit and I have figured out how to get one of the 12 handicapped parking place 'out front'. You go down around 9am and simply wait for someone in one of them to check out and leave. I would wait in my room and when it looked like one was going to open up, dash down, get our truck, and (IF lucky) grab a space 'out front'.
Not only did I get one prior to our checking out December 10th, I nailed the first and formost place a day early.
Our black, GMC Suburban, is IN the 'Boss' parking place.
Front and center.
The rest of this story. We checked out Friday the 10th of December. Thursday morning the 9th, I was looking down at the 'out front' parking places, and I noticed an elderly man and his wife were loading their car that was parked in the 'Boss' parking place. And they had an electric, motorized wheel chair that had to be partially disassembled to load. I knew this would take them some time. I went down and confirmed they were indeed leaving the hotel. So I brought our truck into the entrance area to await their departure. And when they left, I had the 'Boss' parking place that really helped when we checked out.
And? That is that for our visit to The Edgewater Hotel.
