When it comes to the very heart of the Central Business District (CBD) of Hong Kong .. Chater Road is one of the three major roads running east and west.
For the sake of simplicity I will not get into Des Voeux and Connaught Roads that sandwich Chater Road between the two of them. Nor will I go into Pedder and Ice House Streets that run north and south.
Stepping out above and looking down Chater Road to the right.
On this very special Sunday .. To Chater Road and the Hong Kong CBD I am going to add the Hong Kong Central MTR Station and THAT crowd.
So in a generic sense .. the Hong Kong CBD is busy on Sundays.
A Sunday or two ago I was just minding my own business heading to the Hong Kong Central Library to work on the internet.
Do you see the library below. Use the above photo to find it. The below photos were taken looking west up Connaught Road at the east end of the library. The first photo below shows just a sliver of the dark window wall face of the library you see above.
I am also showing you Connaught Road a major road in the CBD of Hong Kong.
Below .. pretty much straight ahead .. you see only the plain flat white east end of the library. It is to the left and above the Blue Parking Lot symbol.
Chater Road is parallel and to the left of Connaught Road above.
Suddenly I looked up as I was about to cross Chater Road and WOW ..
What is happening here?
Will you just look at all of the colors and the happy people!
Notice in the above four photos the elevated walkway above Chater Road connecting the buildings on either side of it.They are real landmarks in downtown Hong Kong.
The first photo below shows the beginning of Chater Road.
Below you can clearly see the two elevated overhead walkways across Chater Road.
A night view of the overhead walkways.
Back into the daylight!
Inside of the first and the western-most walkway looking down on Chater Road.
Looking at Chater House from within the walkway.
Back down on Chater Road.
Above you can see that on a normal weekday you do NOT see what you see below!
Colors and more colors and more smiling happy people!
Below notice The CHANEL logo on the right.
The next three photos show the building on a weekday. It is a real landmark in the Central Business District of Hong Kong.
Take a good look at the yellow crosswalk above on our sunny gorgeous Sunday.
Below you see quite a different scene of the same crosswalk.
And back we come to Chater Road on our one special Sunday.
Everyone seemed to like having me shoot their photograph!
And we have arrived at .. taa-daa .. THE STAGE!
Looking west up Chater Road with the stage at my back.
Sports Fans .. I do NOT want to mislead or to lead-you-astray into believing that this was some serene and quiet little Sunday in the Park!
OH NO .. I EMPHASIZE that there was a LOT of music BLASTING AWAY at this shindig!
The crowd was good natured and loving each and every minute of the fun.
Ah-h-h Chater Road in the heart of the Hong Kong Central Business District.
IF .. but it will come to happen I am sure .. so I will say ..
WHEN .. I leave Hong Kong .. it will be a real WHEW .. I sure will miss you !
I am indeed one very fortunate individual to be living here in Hong Kong for this one moment in time! Thank You Oh God Of Abraham!
Smiles .. Cap in Hong Kong ..
