AUG 24, 15 .. MONGOLIA'S SAIHNII HUTUL NATIONAL PARK ..

India and Mongolia share one unusual thing in common. In both countries the same city or geographic location or even inanimate object can .. and often does .. have several different spellings.

The most common spelling of Mongolia's capital is Ulaanbaatar. That being said it is also spelled as two words .. Ulaan Baatar. Further it is also spelled as Ulan Bator. You get the point.

So it is with the name of this National Park .. Below are a few of the spellings I have run across ..

Saihanii Hutul
Saikhnii Hutul
Saikhnii Khutul
Saikhanii Hutul

Saihnii Hutul - This is the spelling I am going to use .

Personal friends in Ulaanbaatar and in Sukhbaatar and local people in Sukhbaatar .. as well as on the internet .. mostly (see the above blue word) agree on the second word .. Hutul.

Saihnii Hutul is located in Selenge Aimag a province or a state of Mongolia. It is Northwest of Sukhbaatar on the Russian border with Mongolia.

I HAVE GOT TO GET ON WITH THIS POST. THERE IS SIMPLY TOO MUCH MIXED INFORMATION THAT I AM FINDING FOR ME TO DEAL-WITH.

The principal city in Selenge Aimag is Sukhbaatar an old friend to me at this point in my Mongolian adventure.

I have made two-round trips to Sukhbaatar. One by automobile and one by train.

I am so fortunate to have my friends Deegi and her husband Saina on-my-team. They drove me North to Sukhbaatar and they drove me to Saihnii Hutul. Without them I would not have even heard of this magnificent Mongolian National Park.

The drive from Sukhbaatar to Saihnii Hutul was fun as we saw some Mongolian range animals.

We drove through some forest areas as well.

WE HAVE ARRIVED .. SAIHNII HUTUL ..

Directly behind the tree and out-of-view is a Mongolian border station.

A better view of the border station.

Do all of you see 'a face' in the rock formation below?

Thank You so very much Deegi and Saina for this experience.

Below is Russian Siberia. Are all of you aware that Russian Siberia occupies 77% of the Russian land-mass?

How is this for one-of-many SUPER NIFTY places that there are for you to just sit down and enjoy a magnificent day!

 I ask you .. Isn't this nice?

We are not the only nation to have magnificent National Parks.

And to think .. Lou Gehrig thought that he was the luckiest man-in-the-world. Move over Lou My Man ..

Here we go loop-de-loop .. Here we go loop-de-li ..

First we have the small bridge with a nice handrail. Past the first bridge in the backgound is a second bridge WITHOUT a handrail.

Up here you really NEED TO CONCENTRATE on where you are and the importance of NOT losing your balance!

Go ahead .. just focus .. one-careful-step-at-a-time. It is after all .. a-mile-wide isn't it! Go ahead .. step across right in the center .. watch what you are doing and NOT at Russian Siberia out in the distance.

Russian Siberia ..

Deegi says to all of us .. "Will all of you just-look-around at all of this beauty!"

A Mongolian 'good-luck' monument.  I am not able to explain these monuments.

Mongolia in stone relief ..

Way down there in the distance is the border station. It was a bit-of-a-climb up to the upper reaches of the park.

 Wild horses ..

We are back at the beginning .. Thank You So Much Deegi and Saina ..

We may be back .. We are NOT finished ..

I have said ..and I have written .. that to really make-it in a foreign country you have to like .. REALLY LIKE .. the people.

Here we go loop-de-loop .. Here we go loop-de-li ..

Isn't this one-happy-soul ? See her in the back above also.

There is our happy lady again on the right below ..

Can anyone guess which ONE I wanted the most to visit with?

YOU are correct!

His party was from Western Mongolia.

I walked up to him and asked his age .. "70 years." he replied. With my fingers I made my age to be 78. We two locked-in on the spot .. this age-thing is enormous here in Asia!

Whew .. What more can I possibly add ..

Is everyone here having a lot of fun?

I think so ..

The future of Mongolia ..

What a day this day was! .. I am so truly blessed to be here in Mongolia! ..

Smiles .. Kanbaatar ..
