Precocious !
This word has two meanings today. It can be .. and it is .. an adjective defining an unusually smart .. usually young .. person.
Today it is a NAME.
Precocious is a name I have given this silly Canada Goose that has-come-to-live with us!
"What 'Zilla ?" .. "NO ! This silly goose does not really live with us in a physical sense. I mean it is living with us in our minds ! "
Precocious ! What on earth are you doing over here on my blogspot website?
Honk Honk Honk Honk Honk Honk ! Honk Honk Honk Honk Honk and HONK !
"Well Precocious ! You are a Canada Goose so I will translate for you ! "
"Dad ! Tell these kind folks to be sure to go to ..
.. babakaps.net ..
There you will find more photos of me and my buddies at the Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary in Kingsville in Ontario Canada! "
What More Can We Say ?
Smiles .. Cap and Patti ..

Alas, the pitfalls of the English language. One would think it's a Canada goose and Canadian geese, no? Sadly, 'tis not so. Canada goose, Canada geese.
ReplyDeleteT H A N K . Y O U so very V E R Y much Gullible for this correction ! As I was going through my Word Press Post over at babakaps.net correcting this spelllng error .. quite a task by the way .. I noted in the photo of the green Jack Miner sign .. the official plaque no less .. it was spelled Canada Geese. Yikes .. thanks to you I am happy to have made this most important correction. Odd that spell-check does not agree with this .. it is underlined and seems to want the word Canadian .. go figure .. Smiles and MANY THANKS .. This is the very reason that I pay you the big bucks for your consulting fees.
DeleteDon't take that literally 'Zilla ..
Spell check is trying to make sure the parts of speech agree with each other, not that it is the correct word. Apparently it thinks "Canadian" is a modifier of the noun geese. "Canadian" is used frequently and might some day be acceptable because of usage.
DeletePS: Precocious looks like a sweetie ......looking for a handout.
DeleteI'd like to jump in too. In western region of Alaska our, language Yup'ik, tengmiaq; goose, tengmiat; geese, it does not mention, Canada or Canadian. I'm sure the Natives there have different languages, or spellings; Goose or Geese. I doubt it says, Canada or Canadian in front of Goose or Geese, be nice to know.. Sorry to spoil your fun. But thanks for sharing that photo of tengmiaq; goose.. Big smiles from Alaska. Aloysius

Thanks so much for your input here. As you know .. and as I have heard .. the natives have some two hundred (200) words for snow. So pleased to have you following along. Just keep on with the keeping on Aloysius ! Your ALLY ! Cap .. Your ALLY ! Patti ..
