NOV 10, 16 .. GOODBYE MUSCAT .. GOODBYE SULTANATE OF OMAN ..

GOODBYE MUSCAT ..

GOODBYE SULTANATE OF OMAN ..

OH MY! HOW VERY SWEET MY VISIT WAS!

I am going to review my visit.
Am I really going to a city named Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman?
It sure looks like I am.
Yes indeed! You are so beautiful!
Wow! I have actually arrived in Muscat.
This gets old and at the same time in the same sentence This NEVER gets old.
"No photographs Sir!" When the security agent headed my way, I was really concerned. I have heard stories of people being put on the next flight back to where they came from. I lucked out big time.
I loved my Qurum Beach Hotel.

I loved the hotel lobby.
The circular staircase. 63-steps each way. Up or down. Of course I also had an elevator as well.

Basic. Reasonably priced. Just what I wanted in a room
I could have had a one bedroom suite for 2x the cost of my basic room
I loved my breakfast buffet.
Captain you can do much better on your toast than this!
 Much better Captain!

US $6.50.
Come on! I thought I was close to Qurum Beach.
Off to find the Gulf of Oman.
10-minutes max and there is Qurum Beach.
The Crowne Plaza Muscat defined the East end of Qurum Beach.

Hello My Dear One! Nice to have you here with me in spirit.

The Japengo Cafe became one of my favorite restaurants.

My first morning, my first breakfast, on the beach.

Let's walk off that breakfast Captain.

How can one get too much of a beach?
My BIG BUS pickup point was beside the Japengo Cafe.

They became my 'buddies'.
Smart phones abound here in the Middle East!

They were looking back to see IF I was looking back to see IF they were looking back at me.
All I could see were two pair of eyes.

Oh my! What two pair of 'sparkling smiling mischievous eyes' can convey!

My Starbucks on Qurum Beach.

Nice steak baguette sandwich.

What doesn't Muscat have? Fire them up guys.
Looking East from the Western end of Qurum Beach. The rocky area.

The end of a great day on Qurum Beach.

An early morning walk up to The Crowne Plaza Muscat for breakfast.

A once in a lifetime quality breakfast buffet.

US $39.68.
Qurum Beach and my Japengo Cafe as seen from the Crowne Plaza Muscat hotel.
After all was said and done, my BIG BUS tour was one highlight of my visit.

The Natural Park.
A favorite of mine.
Downtown.

Parliament.
The Frankincense Burner.
The Marina.

NOT commercial cruise ships. The Sultan's ships.

The Grand Mosque.
The Ceremonial Palace.
The National Museum.
The Fish Market.
Hello again My Dear One Patti.

The Dolphins.

The Royal Opera House Muscat.

QURUM BEACH. Here Sports Fans is where this Post got away from me.

I am going to leave with a last, final, long, walk up Qurum Beach.

In the final analysis, Qurum Beach was the highlight of the trip. This walk began at the far West end of the beach and I walked East towards my hotel and the Crowne Plaza Muscat hotel.

The walk began at the small shopping center you see below. This was tour stop 3 on the BIG BUS ride.

I rode the BIG BUS here. Then walked home East up Qurum Beach. An easy 1-1/2 hour stroll.
The shopping center.

A Subway Tuna Foot-Long to fuel me up for the walk.
Here we are about to head East up the beach.
I would walk 100-paces and shoot a photo facing West (the water is on the right). Then turn around and shoot a photo facing East (the water is on the left).

The next four photos were taken at sunset on another beach walk. I wanted to show them here.

Back we return to my mid-day beach walk.

Patti, here you see your name written in the sand a third time.

Before we cross the bridge, we are going to look at the grove of Palm Trees on this side of the bridge that you see on the right above.

Across the bridge we walk.

Patti and 'Zilla and Claudia, will you look who I saw at the other end of the bridge.

Litter mates no doubt.

This is the very rocky section of Qurum Beach.

Back we are to the sandy section of Qurum Beach.
Our last look at the Crowne Plaza Muscat hotel.
Time to say goodbye to Miss Muscat.

I hear you calling to me Miss Dubai.
Back home in the Al Farej Hotel here in Dubai.
Life and life's passages.

Never, never ever, did I expect to visit the Middle East for an extended stay.

That truth being stated, never, never ever, did I expect to visit the Sultanate of Oman and get to know Miss Muscat.

Thank You all for your interest.

Thank You Patti for your assistance with all of these Posts.

Smiles, Cap

OH SIGH! FOR BEING MERE DIGITAL IMAGES, COMPOSED OF BITS AND BYTES, THE BELOW PALM TREE PHOTOS CERTAINLY SPOKE LOUD AND CLEAR AND MOST PERSISTENLY TO ME.

"Dad! You will not rest unless and until you show us again, bathed in the late afternoon sun, to your followers."

Goodbye Miss Muscat.

I agree with you, Miss Muscat is lovely ... beautiful beaches (and thank you for my name in the sand THREE times (I will watch for the sand to float into Cook Inlet here in Alaska), lovely attractions, nice Qurum Beach Hotel. 2. Cap, Wow what a trip! The architecture, the beach, and your tour guide style of laying it out for us makes me feel like I know a bit about Muscat. I know so little of the Middle East, yet have always been fascinated. Thank you for bringing me closer. Keep having fun! Hello to Patti! Fondly, Kitty

    1. I too had no idea of what was really here in the Mid East Kitty. The Mid East has this aura about it. Now I sure have a great feeling about the United Arab Emirates. So nice to have you along for the adventure. Smiles, Cap
