Monument Health is a firm located in Rapid City, South Dakota. They assist individuals of all ages with disabilities.
From time to time, Monument Health hosts Special Rodeos that are free to attend and are open to people with disabilities. The Rodeo events include activities such as horseback riding, roping, stick horse barrel races, and miniature horse painting. There is also a separate sensory area with calming activities.
Recently Kit participated in one of the Monument Health Special Rodeos and sent us a few photos she took of the event.
Kit said about 50 disabled people attended the Rodeo and enjoyed working with some mini horses, Mable the Barn St. Bernard, and one rabbit. Kit apologized for not having a photo of the rabbit.
Hi Kit!
Let's meet Mabel, the Barn St. Bernard.
Hi Mabel!
Kit, we have a favor to ask of you. Because you were not able to photograph "Your rabbit" we thought we'd send two photos of "Our rabbit" who was not able to join you.
"Our rabbit" greatly assists Patti and me!
He loves his carrots Kit!
Kit, thank you so very, VERY MUCH for sharing this wonderful work you are doing with all of our readers here on our website.

Good morning from Rochester, MN! I love the pic of Peter Rabbit. We have one that regularly comes in the backyard to say hello to Love and Buck. We call him Benjamin. Funny how even wild rabbits are often fairly tame. Enjoy Peter! Winter's comin...
ReplyDeleteI have questions about the horse painting. Are they painting on the horses or painting horses on a canvas? I see a heart on the black's hindquarter and yellow on the black and white's rump so I am guessing chalk?
ReplyDeleteI don't have a rabbit in my backyard but a very fluffy skunk came strolling though last week. Usually I just see possums, racoons and a few feral cats from time to time.
Forgot to add my name !
DeleteKathleen I don't see what you mean? You wrote .. I see a heart on the black's hindquarter and yellow on the black and white's rump so I am guessing chalk? .. I don't see that photo. In real life they paint the horses. Smiles .. Cap and Patti
