To truly understand this Post, you need some background.
On dotnet, today, we published a Birthday Post.
We pointed out that today, September the 5th, is National Cheese Pizza Day.
In the above dotnet Post, we wrote the below words about our current pizza eating habits:
This being a Program of Honesty, Patti and I DO NOT fall into any of the below categories..
41% of American’s eat pizza every week. 59% of adults prefer pizza as a dinner option. 93% of Americans will eat pizza at least once in the next 30 days. 36% of Americans say pizza is the perfect breakfast.
Well, today, September 5th, in honor of my 88th birthday, Patti and I ate pizza for BREAKFAST! Tonight Patti and I are going to have some left over pizza (from breakfast) for dinner. We definitely ate pizza once in the next 30 days. And Patti and I had pizza for breakfast today.

Patti and I awoke about 11am this morning and Patti said to me: "Let's get a pizza today on National Pizza Day!"
So we called our local Pizzeria, The Moose's Tooth. We ordered a cheese pizza to take out. We brought it home and enjoyed 5 slices for breakfast. This evening we will eat the remaining 3 slices for dinner.
THE MOOSE'S TOOTH PIZZERIA ANCHORAGE.
Now as we go inside, you will see why we ordered a "Pizza to take out". The Moose's Tooth is always just a bit busy!
We ordered our pizza and they said it'll be ready in 30 minutes.
They texted us when it was ready and off we went to pick it up.
We brought it home and enjoyed five slices "for breakfast"!
Below we have our Pizza Dinner.
Cap, my dear friend! WOOHOO! 88 trips around the sun....and still standin'! Wowsa! And eating breakfast pizza to boot! IMHO it just don't get much better than this! I can vicariously see you and Patti 'smurfing' some early morning pizza. I know from our history that you love pizza but sometimes even one medium size pizza is too much to consume all in one day. I still chuckle when you and Patti called me from Rosetti's and said you had ordered Deep Dish Pizza and you only had maybe one slice and the rest was too much! And you made me the most lucky pizza lover in the South West when you said you were going to swing by and gift me with the remainder! Wowsa! I dined on the rediculously rich cheese-laden tasty pizza for the next 3 days!
ReplyDeleteDid you sit down or order to-go at the Moose's Tooth? The pictures certainly brought back memories for me. Whenever I planned to be in Anchorage for the day or afternoon the 'go-to' for food was exactly limited to visitng the Moose's Tooth! OMG! The pizza's and salads were orgiastic!
Us three most certainly watched the opening NFL game last night between K.C. and the Ravens. It was fun, but I found the last 4secs of the game the most exciting, eh? To almost, but not....to lose by a big toe was incredible! The Ravens head coach initially thought they had tied the game and he was already running out onto the field signaling his team to go 'For 2 points!' It would have been one remarkable finish added to another already unbelievable finish if that had come to fruition.
Temps are still boilin' over here...we're on track to match the historical temp of 113 for this day. Prayin' that we don't...but it's already soaring near! Whew! Thank God for a reliable AC unit and somewhat reliable electric grid!
We are Truly Blessed!
Be seeing you both sooner than soon. Until then,
Love from Me and Little Bit
How fun your comment is Michael. Of course! You KNOW The Moose's Tooth Pizzeria up here in Anchorage from your many years living here! So happy it brought back great memories for you. We ordered by telephone and then picked up our pizza after they texted us it was ready. The wait to be seated, then the wait for the pizza to be made, was just not feasible for us. Oh how we remember that adventure at Rosetti's in Lake Havasu City. That was a one time only adventure and THANK YOU for helping us "finish" it. Amazing.
DeleteOh My, Oh My, yes that was some game last night, the Ravens vs the Chiefs. What a way to begin the new NFL season. The heat you are experiencing down in Arizona is really something. We are loving our very cool weather up here. Thanks so very much for your great comment. Your Allies .. Cap and Patti
AAAHH PIZZA! I love it. I only have it about once a year and usually it's a slice of Costco pizza which is pretty good. I think the last time I had pizza was the deep dish I craved after you posted pictures of one. It was delicious and lasted for a few meals. My current weekend is BBQ. I indulged in few bites of a huge tasty BBQ rib, a few bites of pulled pork and brisket, mac/cheese, and baked beans. It was wonderful and nearly put me in a food coma. I had some more for lunch today and will have some for lunch tomorrow. The Green Bay/Philly game was a chore to watch. The stadium announcer was at equal or greater volume than the broadcast team so impossible to understand either when they were talking at the same time. The mic on the ref was barely understandable. It gave me a headache trying to listen. The field was slippery so a bit of a sloppy game with lots of penalties and interceptions, ending with an injured QB (Love) on the penultimate play. Honestly, I was glad when it was over. The most enjoyable part was the enthusiasm of the crowd. Apparently Brazil is now the 3rd largest market for NFL. Looking forward to Monday night with the 49ers; also, curious to see how Aaron Rodgers will fare after missing all but 4 plays last season.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen. Thanks for your comment, we really appreciate your interest and input. The last time we had Pizza was way back in April of 2023 down in Lake Havasu City, Arizone. Our Post about that Deep Dish Pizza may have been your trigger over a year ago. So, like you, we don't have pizza all that often.
DeleteWe are also very interested in the NY Jets vs the 49ers tomorrow night on Monday Night Football. Like perhaps the nation of fans, we are all wondering just how Aaron Rodgers will do. On the road with no game experience for a year now. The Brazil NFL game (Eagles vs Packers) sounds like it was very challenging to watch. Smiles.. Cap and Patti
