In part 2 / 3, Kit in South Dakota, was our guest contributor and she shared some photos of a car show in Deadwood, SD.
In part 3 / 3, Kit shared photos of the gigantic motorcycle rally in the Black Hills and Sturgis, SD.
The below link will take you to the 84th Annual Motorcycle Rally.
A few photos taken driving down to Sturgis.
Kit? Would that be Devils Tower, Wyoming, off in the distance?
The next three photos below, sure look like you and Tim were 'on foot' walking around!
Oh My! Oh My!
Night time is coming.
Well there you have it!
Oh Yes! The South Dakota photos were not shot this weekend but they 'fit well' for a Labor Day Weekend fun Post.

Awww I do miss my road trips to Sturgis. South to AZ then New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming. I was fortunate to have a friend who was a great planner. She and her boyfriend (later, husband) would set up a route, pick reasonably priced hotels (none of us were campers), and we would hit the road. Usually about 10-15 people. My first trip, I wasn't too sure about going to Sturgis (not a fan of crowds). I just wanted all the travel before and after (every year was a different route through Canada to Victoria and then south). My first time on Main St in Sturgis, I was in love. The people watching was phenomenal, not to mention all the motorcycles. I was hooked. Ah the good old days!
ReplyDeleteYou have "done Sturgis more than once"! Now THAT Kathleen is truly awesome. We can't fully grasp the size of the crowds. Your well planned trips with your friends sound wondeful. We can well imagine that the people watching was phenomenal. Thanks so very much for sharing your experience with us Kathleen! Cap and Patti
DeleteHi Cap, Yes that photo has Devils Tower in the background. The other pics show the Needles Highway, Sturgis and bikes lined up in Deadwood. At any given moment one can ride and hour or so in any direction here and enjoy their day. It really is a beautiful spot in the world. Many thanks to you and Patti.
ReplyDeleteKit
Devils Tower is so unique isn't it Kit! IF you know about it, you can sure recognize it. Close Encounters sure "put it on the map" for a lot of people beginning with me. Many thanks to you Kit for your comment and contribution of photos. Cap and Patti
