Deep breath .. here comes a rhetorical question ..
Have I always disliked the New York Yankees baseball team?
I don't think so. But since I go-back into the 1940s as a sports and a baseball fan .. and since the New York Yankees .. over the century and more since baseball was invented .. have been the absolutely best-team-in-baseball .. and since I tend to root for the underdog .. at best I have ranged from luke-warm to some dislike for The Yankees.
Am I alone? I think not! Have any of you ever heard of the Broadway Stage Play titled : DAMN YANKEES !
Yesterday was yet another beautiful Autumn day here in downstate New York! Autumn is in full bloom! Patti and I left Palenville in upstate New York and drove ' into-the-city '. Basically we did one thing and one-thing-alone .. we went to the Bronx and we visited The House That (Babe) Ruth Built .. otherwise known as Yankee Stadium.
So here we go.
From a distance .. can you see Yankee Stadium?
In the below photo we are an a bridge. Yankee Stadium is directly ahead of us. You have to know what you are looking at. The photo following the one below shows Yankee Stadium clearly.
In the below photo Patti and I are coming off the above bridge as we are approaching Yankee Stadium. Ol' Bobba Caps is out in the middle of the road looking-into approaching traffic where he does NOT belong. I snapped the below photo .. avoided the about-to-happen head-on-crash .. and then had to cut-off some poor car to our right to get back into my traffic lane. Patti was sitting silently thinking to herself ..
"Hum-m-m-m? How is Cap going to get-out-of-this-predicament?"
In our two or three hours in New York City .. NOT ONE TIME did anyone flip-me-off or act ugly. NOT ONCE. Thank You New Yorkers! I love (well most of) you!
"And Alliz I got the photo I was looking for." Alliz is 'Zilla's other half. Spell Alliz backwards! Sometimes I need one-of-those-other-believers with me as I travel this world.
I really am not sure of how on this-good-earth I extracted myself from the above dicey-situation!
I LOVE YOU NEW YORK CITY DRIVERS! They are .. after all .. used-to-crazy drivers and crazy everything else! Crazy is a daily thing for New Yorkers! Crazy is what-they-do!
Yankee Stadium is kind-of-sort-of in the middle of a freeway exit / interchange .. crazy! Patti and I almost got onto Interstate 87 South.
The other side of Yankee Stadium fronts the New York Subway you see above us in the below photo.
At this point I parked our truck. Patti sat in the truck people-watching. We both made absolutely sure all of the doors were locked! Then I took-off to snap some more photos of Yankee Stadium.
WELL HELLO HENRY DAVID THOREAU! .. Fancy having you along with us here in New York City. I think I will take your advice!! Saunter-Saunter-Saunter and off we will continue on-foot!

Tom Tiger 1968 .. IF you are reading along here .. this is the honest truth .. so help-me-God! Tom I almost went into the Yankees Team Store and bought myself a New York Yankees Team Cap!! But Tom .. trust me on this .. I did NOT do so!
What a nice clear beautiful Autumn day we enjoyed.
There is no significance to Gate 6 in the photo below. Gate 6 just happened to be the entry gate that I stood in front of today. So I snapped MY gate 6. Two photos below you can see the location of Gate 6.
In the below photo .. you can see the general area where most of my photos were taken.
As I wrote above .. we were parked under an elevated section of the New York City Subway. The underside of the subway is the black area in the top-right of the below photo.
Oh YES ! .. There was all-sorts-of-action around Yankee Stadium!

Miss New York! .. Miss Yankee Stadium!.. You are two Grand Dames! Oh how I wish we could have spent more time with you! And YES! I like your beloved New York Yankees just a little-bit-better after this visit. It truly was a bit-of-a-thrill to see Yankee Stadium live and up-close!

You and Gully are crazy. The things you both do for a photo or several photos upon occasion!!! You both come out smelling like a rose, fortunately, but your actions make my heart race!!!
