And here I sit, thinking until this trip to the Middle East, that THE MONEY is over in Hong Kong.
The AL ALAM PALACE was tour stop 9 on the BIG BUS Muscat Oman tour route.
However on the tour we just rolled right on past the palace and did not stop nor was I able to disembark from the bus even though I was the only passenger.
I snapped these photos when I was with Mohammad in his taxi.
I snapped the below photos from the BIG BUS. Because I was totally focused upon snapping photos, I had no idea what I was photographing. I was not able to be tied to a speaker headphone cord listening to an almost impossible to hear voice and, at the same time, be jumping from side to side on the bus shooting photos.
AL ALAM PALACE is the 'ceremonial' palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos of the Sultanate of Oman. Can you imagine? It seems that there is another palace. Maybe more than one other palace.
And here I sit, amazed that THE MONEY is not all over in Hong Kong.
Out and off Mohammad and I drove in his taxi to see AL ALAM PALACE.
En route we passed through MUSCAT GATE which I had passed through three times on the BIG BUS tour but never caught a good photo of from the bus.
"Mohammad? Will you stop here so I can photograph MUSCAT GATE."

I snapped the below photos after we left the palace and were on the road outside.
The below photos were taken after passing the above fort looking at yet another fort in the distance. We are right behind the AL ALAM PALACE.
In Muscat, Oman, one is never very far from the water.
Back we go inside of the palace grounds after the above brief excursion outside the palace.
The always, and the ever present, custodial force.
"How?" I ask you could I NOT photograph these gentlemen!
WHEE!
Looking from the palace grounds out to the road, we see in the distance the National Museum.
We are still inside of the palace.
This certainly is a most attractive area. The AL ALAM PALACE and the NATIONAL MUSEUM.
What more can I add?
Got it! I will add this epilogue.
Here I sit in the Middle East, thinking to myself, "And here I thought that THE MONEY is over in Hong Kong."

The Palace is really something and it did look like several palaces! I had to jog to keep up with the jumps back and forth between the Palace, the Muscat Gate, the Fort(s), the proximity to water, water everywhere, the National Museum, the custodial forces ... whew! Busy post!! Hugs. Patti
