AUG 19, 22 .. IT'S THE DETROIT DREAM CRUISE WEEKEND !! BACK IN TIME WE GO !!

It IS Friday.. 

It IS August the 19th 2022 !!

It IS.. DREAM CRUISE FRIDAY !!

Technically the Dream Cruise is a one day event, held on the third Saturday of August each year.

However, each year, beginning slowly on Monday and building up inertia and intensity until the cruise finishes about 12noon on Sunday, the cruise is almost a one week long event.

Back on the weekend of August 17th, 2014, Patti and I, along with our friend Tom, enjoyed the Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise.

The custom cars begin to appear on Monday of the Dream Cruise Week. Oh yes, it is early in the week, and there are just a few randomly scattered street rods and restored vehicles. By Thursday everyone is ready for Friday and out come the cars and trucks and other vehicles en masse. Yes indeed! Saturday IS the peak day and by noon on Sunday the volume of cars has faded away into history.

Here we go, back to re-visit the 2014 Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise. Patti and Cap and Tom Tiger!

There were a lot of cars on display in parks located along the cruise route.









There were custom vehicles all over!

This below photo of Patti was taken on our home street.


And in uptown Royal Oak.


Hi Gord! We sure miss Mister B's. We enjoyed a lot of fun meals there.


Back in 2014, Tom drove our GMC Suburban the entire cruise route. Patti rode up front and I rode in the back taking pictures. 


In the back seat of our Suburban, I had plenty of room to jump from side to side to snap photos.


The round trip is approximately 26 miles or 43 km and it runs from 8 mile Road in Detroit all the way North to the city of Pontiac.

A few photos snapped while we were actually riding in, and were a part of, the cruise!


Actually it was a great place to see the cars that were parked along the cruise route and were not out cruising!


These photos give you a real idea of the enormous size of the cruise. 26 miles of custom cars.





In the late evening on Saturday, the signature day of the cruise drew to a close!
