At the end of July, our good friend and Ally Gullible, again (as she had done several times previously) asked us to publish a post showing our (Patti, Gullible and myself) train ride from Sukbaatar, Mongolia, South to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, back in November of 2015. And we did just that.
Then, since we were (in a virtual manner) back visiting Mongolia, we decided to show some other photos of Mongolia.
This re-visit will show 159 photos of the downtown area of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Because some (many?) of you won't want to look at 159 photos, we have posted a random sample of 45 photos showing what you would see if you looked at all 159 photos.
One cannot think of the central, downtown-heart of Ulaanbaatar, without thinking of the Blue Sky Hotel, a magnifient edifice that overlooks the entire downtown area.
By the way, we published several posts showing only photos of the Blue Sky Hotel.
A peek at the Blue Sky Hotel from afar.
Now we'll look at some of the other buildings in the central downtown area.
The downtown area is very attractive, with floral displays and murals on some of the buildings.
We did not want to start this post with a photo of one of Ulaanbaatar's excellent City Buses, however this important feature of Ulaabaatar is how we got around!
Now we will re-visit the enormous Chinggis Khaan / Sukbaatar Square, located directly across from the Blue Sky Hotel.
The pink building (as viewed looking East from the Square) in the next three photos is the Opera House. I have attended four operas here.
Oh My YES !! There are almost a never-ending series of weekend events held in Sukbaatar Square.
Now, IF (oh the BIG IF) you would like to see many more photos please click onto the below link and have a good look-see.

Thanks so very much for your support and for your interest in our international travels, pretty much past and not so many at present.

Fun visiting Ulanbaatar again. Thanks. PS: I don't recall a sunny blue sky day there.
ReplyDeleteThanks so very much for your comment and for enjoying a re-visit to Ulaanbaatar. The sunny blue skies were on the rare side as to there being very many of them. Smiles and Thanks for your support.. Cap
