Prologue: I can hardly wait to put this series of two Posts together and to publish them. I hope you all enjoy them. I am not staying at the CROWNE PLAZA MUSCAT hotel, but it has become a special landmark for me during my visit here to Muscat, the capital city of The Sultanate of Oman.
In this the first Post, I am going to introduce you to The CROWNE PLAZA as you see it from the beach.
In the second Post, I am going to take you up to and inside of the hotel. There we are going to eat a great breakfast together.
QURUM BEACH FEATURING THE CROWN PLAZA
The stately CROWNE PLAZA overlooks Qurum Beach. If you look East up Qurum Beach it is hard to miss the CROWNE PLAZA. This makes it a real landmark of Qurum Beach.
My first ever view of The CROWNE PLAZA was from the roof of my Qurum Beach Hotel. I was up on the roof just looking around to see what I could see and there it was. Of course I did not know what it was other than a stately hotel that no doubt was very expensive.
The first photo overlooks Muscat. I thought to myself, "Where on earth is the beach I have been hearing about? Is the beach 10-miles away?"
Then I turned to my right and got my first ever glimpse of the CROWNE PLAZA.
Then I 'zoomed in' on the CROWNE PLAZA.
I was impressed. I still am impressed.
Qurum Beach and The CROWNE PLAZA MUSCAT.
I hope you enjoy seeing the beautiful Qurum Beach. The below photos begin at the East end of the beach and proceed Westward to the extreme West end of the beach.

A few late afternoon photos of the hotel and the beach.
As you are going to see, the character of Qurum Beach changes drastically at sunset.

This completes Part 1 of this set of two Posts.
In Part 2 below, we are going to visit the CROWNE PLAZA MUSCAT. We will go inside and we will eat a magnificent breakfast.

To assure you that, while you will have already seen some of the photos in this Post over on Dot.NET, perhaps 80% of the below photos will be new-to-you.

The hotel reminds me of a former Hilton Hotel in Kailua-Kona in its architecture. The first beach/sunset photo is exceptional.
ReplyDeleteIt could well be the same or similar in design. Architects certainly will do this. I am flattered you like the one sunset photo so well. Smiles and Joy. Cap
DeleteGreat to walk and see both Qurum Beach and the Crown Plaza Hotel both in the daytime and at dusk and sunset/evening. Humbling to see my name in the sand in the country of Oman! It is no wonder the people go out on the beach in the evening ... you were expecting it to be 97 degrees that day! Reminds me of the people flocking to the beachfront in Pondicherry, India in the evening. That spotless filter really DOES make everything there look SO clean!!! Hugs. Patti
ReplyDeleteThanks M' Dear One for your comment. YES the beach scene is totally different in the late afternoon and then later at sunset-time isn't it? I am really pleased that I picked this hotel and this location to stay at during my visit to Muscat and to The Sultanate of Oman. The beach is the deal. I may walk even further West just to see more of the beach. Again thanks for looking this Post over. Love, Cap
DeleteHey Cap- Tom here in Royal Oak. In fact, typing on R.O. library computer, one of your hang outs. Love this beach, I am going onto wiki to read up on Muscat. I have heard the name, but I know zero about the place. Time to educate myself.Tom
ReplyDeleteI hope you found out a little more about Muscat Tom. Love the Royal Oak library and the computers there. Takes me back thinking about it Tom. Smiles, Cap
