AUG 18, 24 .. PATTI'S FLOWERS.. SUMMER 2024.. AN UPDATE..

Our great friend and ally Gullible, lives about 100 miles South of us in Moose Pass. On any given day, at any given moment, she very well may have weather entirely different than we have in Anchorage.

Today, here in Anchorage, we have rain.



We see a rainy day. Captain what is your point?

I snapped the below photos yesterday, Saturday, the 17th of August, when it was a "Picture Perfect Day".

The point? Just in case it is warm and sunny in Moose Pass, Gullible will understand we have rain here in Anchorage today on Sunday!

Oh My! Oh My! 

I am so very, VERY HAPPY, that this past July the 27th and 28th, I picked myself up and drove to our local Home Depot and purchased flowers for Patti to have this summer.

What.. A.. Day.. We.. Had.. Yesterday!

Keep in mind that this has been basically a wet, rainy, cool, overcast, summer that we much prefer to the heat in Arizona.

Below are our porch flowers! Our 'Proud Weed' (in the center planter) wants you all to notice his shadow!

Why is he 'Proud Weed'. Because long before we planted all of the flowers, 'Proud Weed' was the one, and the only, sign of anything green and growing in our vacant planter boxes. And just this one bit of green, plant life, pleased Patti to look at!

Lastly, our 'Vagabond' the last planter, has its very own assortment of weeds growing wild with no apologies and no help from us thank you!


Two of his 'weeds', the tallest ones, are Alaskan Fireweeds that are also called by the experts, not a weed but, a common and beautiful wildflower.


"Thank You Mom, so very much, for giving all of us a nice drink of water that is fortified with plant vitamins."

    I love how you kept the warrior weed. It is probably in shock because it's getting food and water and not having to struggle to survive. :-) I didn't plant any flowers or tomatoes this summer, just my usual large potted plants that have survived quite a few years of my very random care - lavender, rosemary and citronella. When I do trim them, they reward me with wonderful aromas.

      Thank You so very much Kathleen for coining a new phrase for 'Proud Weed' calling him a 'Warrior Weed'! Great term. I just didn't have the heart to up root him and stop his life when he offered me the only green on our porch. Nice you get a reward when you take care of your lavender, rosemary and citronella! Patti

    Beautiful flowers! Love the weed shadow! I've always said, a weed is just a beautiful flower growing in the wrong spot 🌸🌼🌱
