The below story happened in early January 2012. It involved the 16 oz green plastic Tupperware Tumbler you just saw above.
On January 6, 2012 .. I was in New Delhi at the YMCA. I left the YMCA about 5AM to catch a 6AM train to Agra Cantt. It was early and I had just come up from Goa the day before. I was tired out and not 100%!
Before I walked out of the YMCA .. I went to the restroom taking with me the above 16 oz green plastic Tupperware Tumbler and a small bottle and small washcloth.
I left the restroom and caught my train to Agra Cantt.
Two days later on Sunday the 8th .. now in Agra Cantt .. I went looking for my green Tupperware Tumbler and the small bottle and the wash cloth! ALL three of them were missing. I searched and I searched and they were gone!
I WAS BUMMED OUT .. losing yet more Bobbseys that are dear to me because of my own ineptness!
Someone famous wrote .. NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE UP ! .. I wish I had the quote ..
Now we move ahead in time by 5+ days from January 6th to Wednesday January 11th.
I was back in New Delhi and I decided to walk to the YMCA and to ask about my missing Bobbseys.
Into the YMCA I walked and asked the Day Manager if the Housekeeping Department had a Lost and Found.
Mister Freddy John .. a man I'd known since November 1990 .. asked what I'd lost. I described the Tumbler to him mentioning the bottle and wash cloth.
Oddly .. looking at me quizically .. he held up his two forefingers about six-inches apart and walking away said .. "I will check."
I WAITED AND THEN .. WITH MY TUPPERWARE TUMBLER AND THE BOTTLE INSIDE OF IT AND MY SMALL WASH CLOTH .. BACK TO ME HE CAME!
It turned out that he had noticed the Tumbler during his rounds walking the YMCA for the past several days and had made a mental note of them! This was why he held his two forefingers about six inches apart .. the height of the tumbler .. WOW ..
THEY HAD ALL SAT .. UNTOUCHED .. for five and one half (5 1/2) DAYS .. in the mixed (boys and girls) restroom ..
A YEAR AGO AND NOW I REMAIN ABSOLUTELY STUNNED AND 'BLOWN AWAY' BY THIS ..
How special this was for me .. I really treasure all of my Bobbseys .. and the above have been with me for many years .. coming to India and returning ..
